We operate an immersive simulation laboratory that brings clinical scenarios to life for provider training and assessment across Mass General, including modules for emergency medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, neurology, surgery, critical care, nursing, allied health, and biomedical engineering.

The program uses a high-fidelity mannequin-simulator to recreate an immersive resuscitation environment, allowing providers to “practice” high-risk medicine without any risk to patients.

The MASTER Program has worked closely with the Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions to help expand and enrich the Mass General simulation training environment, including efforts to identify high-risk case material for dedicated simulation training and quality improvement. The Program also collaborates with the Gilbert Program in Medical Simulation at Harvard Medical School to provide Fellowship Training in Medical Simulation—one of the first such training programs in the country.

Faculty and fellows play a leading role in the growth of medical simulation worldwide.
