What medical services are available at Mass General for international patients?

We offer a wide range of expertise, including five multidisciplinary care centers,  known worldwide for innovations in cancer, digestive disorders, heart disease, transplantation and vascular medicine. How long will I need to stay at Mass General?

The length of your stay depends on your condition and treatment, but we generally suggest giving yourself a week to 10 days, in case you need additional testing or treatments after your consultation.

Where can I stay while receiving care at Mass General?

We can recommend a number of local hotels, inns and apartments for rent. Please see the full listing for prices and contact information. We recommend booking your accommodations after you have made an appointment.

Can I register by telephone?

Yes, but we will also ask you to register online.

What is the cost of care at Mass General?

Patient coordinators will provide you an estimate based on the services your clinical care will require. This estimate is provided based on information available to us at the time.

Will my insurance cover the cost of services at Mass General?

Coverage depends on the patient's insurance policy. Please contact your insurance company to ensure they will cover your services at Mass General. Clinical trials and protocols generally are not covered by insurance companies or governments.

Which services must be paid up front?

Self-pay patients are expected to pre-pay for all elective or scheduled services prior to receiving care.

How should I send my medical documents?

You can send medical records electronically, via email. You should send hard copies of your films or slides via courier services.

Can I send medical documents written in other languages?

No. All documents must be in English. We recommend that records are translated at home to avoid any delays.

Does Mass General translate medical documents?

No. It is the patient’s responsibility to provide documents in English.

Are interpreter services available at Mass General?
