MGH and Partners have several resident benefit programs that ensure living in Boston is an affordable experience, including a new resident stipend pilot program and a lease guaranty program.
New Resident Stipend Pilot Program
We understand that living in Boston is expensive and this discourages residency applicants with significant financial challenges from training here. CDI helped lead a task force with Partners GME, MGH Human Resources, and BWH PO leadership to develop novel solutions to address this issue. In collaboration with BWH, Mass Eye and Ear, and Spaulding Rehab, MGH is delighted to announce a new pilot program that will provide cash stipends (in addition to standard PGY-level salary) to physicians-in-training who match to our residency programs in 2019 and were approved for the AAMC’s “Fee Assistance Program (FAP)” as an AMCAS applicant, with their confirmation of continuing financial need. The Lease Guaranty Program
The Partners Lease Guaranty is a program for interns, residents, and clinical fellows. Partners guarantees participating landlords that it will cover certain costs that the tenant (intern, resident, or clinical fellow) is obligated to pay. The guaranty does not relieve the tenant from any lease obligation. The tenant will reimburse Partners for any payments made by Partners to the landlord on the tenant's behalf.
