Two decades after her deployment to Ground Zero in the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, Susan Diehl, RN, vividly remembers the relatives. “Each morning when we’d arrive at the police barricades, people would be standing there with pictures of their loved ones, asking us to look for them,” she says. “Hours later, after a hard shift when we were ready to get back on the shuttle bus to the hotel, they were still there—waiting for word.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mass General Gastroenterology is continuing to provide care for our patients. We recommend that our patients keep their scheduled clinic appointments and do not postpone their gastrointestinal care, unless recommended by your physician. We are also seeing new patients for consultation. Most routine lab testing and radiology exams can be scheduled and performed. Our clinicians are available during normal clinic sessions, and also on a limited basis in our endoscopy units.
