About the Program

The Transplantation Infectious Disease and Compromised Host Program is a part of the life-long care provided to solid organ, bone marrow and stem cell transplant recipients and other immunocompromised individuals with special risk for infections. This program provides in-patient and ambulatory care for this unique "at risk" population.

This program provides:

  • Inpatient consultation for infectious disease management in solid organ and hematopoietic transplant recipients and donors, for patients with acute hematopoietic malignancies and for other individuals with immune deficiencies
  • Outpatient care for the same populations
  • Disease prevention – appropriate pre- and post-transplant vaccination and individually designed strategies for prophylaxis
  • Travel advice in advance or following travel by our patients
  • Antifungal stewardship program for Mass General
