  • Dream come true: MGH researcher selected as NASA astronaut trainee

    When Jessica Meir was 5 years old, she drew a picture of what she wanted to be when she grew up. Thirty years later, the PhD and assistant biologist in the MGH Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine recalled that crayon creation when discussing how her dream of becoming an astronaut may now become a reality.
  • Prescription drug awareness focus of Charlestown campaigns

    The Charlestown Substance Abuse Coalition (CSAC), supported by the MGH Center for Community Health Improvement, organized the community’s fourth annual Take Back prescription drug disposal day to bring awareness to the dangers of prescription drug abuse and the lack of proper drug disposal.
  • Claflin award winners honored

    Six researchers honored with Claflin Distinguished Scholar Awards, providing two years of funding to sustain research productivity during an investigator’s child-rearing years.
  • Madariaga named as cardiothoracic scholar

    Maria Lucia Madariaga, MD, was honored with the Willard Daggett Cardiothoracic Scholar award for her research focusing on ways to conduct heart and lung transplants with methods that do not require immunosuppressive drugs.

    MGH staff celebrate a special opening ceremony of Ellison 12 as an inpatient General Medicine Unit.
  • Enterprise Vault: A new way to manage email

    Between now and the summer of 2014, MGH employee email accounts will gradually be moved to the Enterprise Vault system, a new tool that eliminates concerns about storage quotas, or being sent to “email jail.”
