    Nurses and health professionals in the Department of Nursing & Patient Care Services provide competent, compassionate care for patients in ambulatory, inpatient and clinical settings.

  • Case Management

    Case Management was founded in 1995 in response to a need for improved navigational services for hospitalized patients from admission to discharge. Case managers help patients navigate the complicated landscape of healthcare delivery while helping to ensure cost-effective care.

  • Disability Program

    The MGH Disability Program provides support and services to patients and visitors with disabilities, and actively partners with clinicians and other departments, ensuring the highest level of care for patients.

  • Medical Interpreters

    All of our interpreters support the Mass General community in the delivery of culturally competent care and facilitate access to hospital services for non-English, limited-English-proficient or Deaf and Hard of Hearing patients.

  • Occupational Therapy

    Guided by the latest developments in therapeutic and rehabilitative practice Occupational Therapy works with patients admitted to the hospital as well as outpatients in our ambulatory practices to restore function, develop skills, correct impairments and relearn ways to preform daily activities.

  • Office of Patient Advocacy

    The Office of Patient Advocacy serves as the liaison between patients and the hospital in their expressions of praise or concern so that moral, ethical, operational and care standards are upheld on behalf of Mass General patients.

  • Orthotics & Prosthetics

    The Orthotics and Prosthetics Department provides patients with custom fabricated braces (orthoses) and prosthetic devices (prostheses).

  • Physical Therapy

    Our physical therapists provide evaluation, consultation and individualized treatment for patients of all ages with a variety of conditions and diagnoses in outpatient, inpatient and critical care settings.

  • Respiratory Care Services

    Respiratory Care Services, a division of Nursing & Patient Care Services provides inpatient services to a variety of patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • Speech, Language & Swallowing Disorders

    The Department of Speech, Language and Swallowing Disorders & Reading Disabilities provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and treatment programs for all communication and swallowing disorders from newborns to adults.

  • Spiritual Care

    Massachusetts General Hospital recognizes that meeting the spiritual and religious needs of our patients and their families is an important part of caring for the whole person.

  • Social Service

    The Social Service Department helps patients and families manage and cope with the unique concerns that illness and hospitalization can create.

  • Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine

    The Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine offers free, easily accessible and evidence-based education to Maine health care professionals and the communities they serve through an innovative partnership with Massachusetts General Hospital and an ongoing collaboration with Maine’s health care community.

  • Management Systems & Financial Performance (N&PCS)

    Management Systems and Financial Performance reviews, analyzes and evaluates management systems and programs within Nursing and Patient Care Services.

  • Office of Quality & Safety (N&PCS)

    The Nursing and Patient Care Services Office of Quality & Safety embraces the MGH vision of "leading the nation in quality and safety". Our message is to offer patients and one another our best in every moment.

  • Patient & Family Advisory Councils

    Mass General launched its first Patient and Family Advisory Council in 1999 to bring together patients, family members and hospital staff in an ongoing effort to enhance the patient and family care experience.

  • Retail Shops: Gifts, Flowers & Salons

    The MGH Retail Shops has gift shops and hair salons on the hospitals main campus to provide a welcoming and easy retail option for our customers. All proceeds from the shops support hospital projects and programs.

  • Volunteer Department

    Each year, some 1,500 volunteers provide Mass General with an astounding 108,000 total hours of service. We hope you'll join the team!
