Suzanne Algeri, RN, MS, NE-BC, is the Associate Chief Nurse for Surgical, Orthopedics and Neurosciences at Massachusetts General Hospital. Suzanne oversees and collaborates with the nursing directors and their respective clinical nurse specialists and nurse practice specialists as well as others spanning over 15 different clinical areas, including four ICU’s with oversight of over 1,100 nurses and other clinical staff.
Since joining the staff at Mass General, Suzanne has assumed various clinical and administrative roles. Most recently serving as the Nurse Director of a 32-bed general care Neurosciences Unit that specializes in the care of neurology and neurosurgery patients. Her nursing career spans over 30 years throughout which she has assumed progressive leadership experience and received numerous Partners in Excellence Awards.
Her areas of focus include patient- and family-centered care, clinical operations, interdisciplinary planning and coordination, process design and continuous improvement, leadership support and development, as well as the support and enhancement of the professional practice environment.
Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her Master of Science in Management degree from Emmanuel College, where she received the Excellence in Academics award for finishing at the top of her graduate class.
She is a member of the Organization of Nurse Leaders, Boston Chapter of Neuroscience Nurses and American Association Neuroscience Nurses. Suzanne is also involved with local fundraising efforts for breast cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease research.
