Christina Stone, MSN, RN, PMHCNS-BC, is the associate chief nurse for Case Management and Community Health at Massachusetts General Hospital. Tina oversees and collaborates with the nurse directors, physician advisors and managers in Case Management, and with the nursing and administrative leadership within Mass General’s Ambulatory, Primary Care and Community Health centers.
Tina’s nursing career spans more than 33 years, all of which have been at various roles within Mass general. Her career began in direct care nursing, working as a clinical nurse on a cardiac/medical step-down ICU and later inpatient psychiatry, and as a psychiatric case manager, before assuming the role of psychiatric clinical nurse specialist for inpatient psychiatry. Most recently Tina served as the nurse director for Inpatient Psychiatry, a 24-bed inpatient psychiatric unit that specializes in caring for patients with co-morbid medical and substance use disorders.
Her area of expertise is in reducing health care violence and managing conflict in the workplace, and she has presented on the topic nationally and locally.
Tina earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees from Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. She earned her master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, and is certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She is a member of the Organization for Nurse Leaders, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Sigma Theta Tau International, and the American Psychiatric Nurse Association.
