Nurse-midwives at Mass General provide prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care for patients who are not considered to have a "high-risk" pregnancy. To make an appointment with the Midwifery Service, contact the Obstetrics Program and request an appointment with a midwife.
Rachelle Garcia, CNM, WHNP, MS, is a staff nurse-midwife in the Midwifery Division in the Department of OB/GYN at Mass General and is a teaching associate with Harvard Medical School. Her clinical interest include adolescent and teen health and family planning and contraceptive care. She also has a special interest in caring for women with substance use disorder and is an advocate for improving the postpartum care of women. She sees patients at Chealse HealthCare Center and is conversational in Portuguese and fluent in Italian. Rachelle completed her midwifery education at Georgetown University and holds a BSN from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University.
