Massachusetts General Hospital is once again named among the top hospitals in America by U.S. News & World Report and is the only hospital to be highly rated across all 16 specialties.
Mass General has consistently been ranked as one of the top three hospitals in the United States. In 2012 and 2015, Mass General was recognized as the #1 hospital in America. This year, following a change in the ranking’s methodology, Mass General is third out of almost 5,000 hospitals considered, making it the #1 hospital in the Eastern U.S. Mass General has been ranked as one of the top three hospitals in America every year since 2010 and for 18 of the last 25 years.
The only hospital in the nation to be highly rated in all 16 specialties, Mass General is #1 in the nation in Psychiatry and Ear, Nose and Throat (with Massachusetts Eye and Ear) and among the top five in Cardiology & Heart Surgery, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology (GI) & GI Surgery, Gynecology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology (with Massachusetts Eye and Ear), Pulmonology and Rehabilitation (with Spaulding).
