Santa makes a stops at MGHfC

HERE COMES SANTA CLAUS: Santa and his helpers at MGHfC

Santa Claus and his helpers made an early trip from the North Pole Dec. 14 to bring holiday cheer and gifts to the young patients at MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC). Dressed as Santa, Kevin Raskin, MD, and other staff members from the MGH Department of Orthopædics delivered toys and games to children of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit, the Francis H. Burr Proton Therapy Center, the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Ellison 17 and 18. More than 50 gift bags were distributed with items and treats donated by the Orthopædics staff and other MGH departments including Imaging, Nutrition and Food Services, and the Gift Shop.

"It's our pleasure to do this every year," says Crystal Moore, an Orthopædics patient services coordinator who has helped organize the event for the past four years.

"The look on the childrens' faces is inspiring and truly priceless," adds Raskin. "The smiles alone reflect the true meaning of the holidays."
