About the Center for Pelvic Floor Disorders

At Massachusetts General Hospital, our pelvic health specialists work together to treat the complex and often interconnected problems that cause pelvic floor disorders. Our goal is to return every patient to health and well-being.

All patients are evaluated by our highly skilled multidisciplinary team of pelvic health specialists.

We work with both the patient and the referring physician to determine the best course of care and to develop a customized treatment plan for each patient. Treatment may include any (or a combination) of the following:

  • Biofeedback
  • Physical therapy
  • Medication
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Surgery, including minimally invasive surgical techniques

Our Treatment Philosophy

Our treatment philosophy is built upon a foundation of honest, open communication with every patient. Whatever treatment we recommend, we encourage patients to speak freely and participate in decisions about their health.
