About Our Program

Clinical Programs, Populations Served, Scope of Service
Referrals to the clinic’s Mental Health Department are generated from primary care physicians. Patients present with a variety of Axis I diagnoses. Typical referrals are for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD and personality disorders. The clinic’s diverse patient population includes Cambodian, Arabic, Hispanic and Vietnamese individuals.

A number of the clinic’s social workers, who are directly connected with its OB/GYN department, work with pregnant teens on site at the Revere public schools. The Mental Health Department also offers a variety of therapy groups, including a Chronic Pain Group, CBT for Anxiety Group, Domestic Violence Group, Women’s Group, Social Skills Group, Wellness Group for Seniors, Mind/Body Group for Depression, and Substance Abuse Group.

Dr. Batool Kazim serves as an examiner in the annual Harvard Medical School Patient-Doctor Objective Structured Clinical Exam. Dr. Anthony Lim supervises psychiatry residents.

Fellowship Training
The Mental Health Department does not offer a fellowship at this time.

Research Projects
The clinic’s Mind/Body Group is funded by the MGH-Benson Henry Institute and the MGH-Community Health Associates.
