The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Community Surgery provides comprehensive, accessible surgical care to patients in communities north of Boston.
The Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Community Surgery comprises a team of board-certified surgeons who offer expertise in general and specialty surgical care, including bariatric, breast, colorectal, endocrine, gastrointestinal, laparoscopic and vascular surgery.
We are committed to providing our patients with collaborative, specialized care to meet their individual needs—from minor procedures to minimally invasive surgery—using the most sophisticated technology. In all cases, our priority is the health and safety of our patients.
Expert Care, Close to Home
Our patients have access to high-quality surgical care on Boston’s North Shore. Our office at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers is adjacent to eight state-of-the-art surgical suites where the majority of our outpatient procedures are performed. If inpatient care is needed, it is provided at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, MA.

- Acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Colon and rectal disorders (e.g. constipation, incontinence)
- Complex wounds
- Crohn's disease

- Gallbladder diseases, including gallstones
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
- Hemorrhoids and other anal diseases
- Hernias
- Skin cancers, including melanoma and other lesions
- Ulcerative colitis
- Varicose veins and other venous disorders
