Optimal Current Treatment in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery

Experts from the Massachusetts General Hospital Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Harvard Medical School present an in-depth examination of a spectrum of topics related to the management of patients with vascular disease.

A comprehensive review of existing data as well as new information regarding the natural history, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of commonly encountered vascular problems will be presented by an outstanding faculty of over 45 nationally recognized authorities leading to a better understanding of contemporary standards of effective and cost-efficient care as well as future trends in vascular surgery.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate current treatments and determine the appropriate interventions for carotid artery disease and carotid endarterectomy
  • Apply current guidelines for aortic aneurysm management
  • Integrate contemporary evidence and recommendations into their care of patients with lower extremity venous insufficiency
  • Evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of carotid stenting
  • Compare the best available options for treating lower extremity ischemia
  • Employ endovascular therapies for peripheral artery occlusive disease
  • Manage acute arterial ischemia according to current Society for Vascular Surgery guidelines
  • Determine the optimal management for patients with endoleak after EVAR
