The Rahme Laboratory, led by Laurence Rahme, MSc, PhD, aims to develop alternative, novel strategies to combat bacterial infections caused by recalcitrant pathogens, prevent infections and potentiate host defense.
Ronald Tompkins, MD, ScD
Ronald Tompkins, MD, ScD, is the founding director of the Center for Surgery, Science and Bioengineering. Dr. Tompkins focuses on research to develop new approaches to health care delivery and personalized medicine, minimally invasive therapies, as well as a myriad of new technologies such as re-engineered organs, smart nano-pharmaceuticals and nano-diagnostics, and living cell-based microfabricated devices for diagnostics, therapeutics, high-throughput drug screening, and basic and applied biomedical investigation.
Mehmet Toner, PhD
Mehmet Toner, PhD, is an investigator at the Center for Engineering in Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Toner is internationally recognized for his multidisciplinary approach to biomedical problems in the areas of low-temperature biology and biostabilization, tissue engineering and artificial organs, and microsystems bioengineering in clinical medicine and biology.
