Trauma Care Programs
The Division of Critical Care improves outcomes for critically ill patients through multidisciplinary education, research collaboration, and integrating patient care across the prehospital setting, the Emergency Department and the ICU.
Highly trained surgeons in the Emergency Surgery Program, part of the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, are available 24 hours a day to perform emergency surgery for potentially life-threatening conditions.
The Surgical Critical Care Program treats patients who are critically ill with life-threatening conditions not caused by an injury, such as ulcers, obstructions and appendicitis.
The Trauma Program within the Division of Trauma, Emergency Surgery and Surgical Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital treats patients with the most critical traumatic injuries.
