About Devanshi Patel, MS, LCGC

Ms. Patel is a licensed genetic counselor who earned her master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from Brandeis University. After graduating, she joined the cardiology department at Children’s Hospital Boston working in both clinical and research cardiovascular genetics. She then joined the Center for Medical Genetics at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (now Northshore University Health System) in Illinois, providing clinical care for adult patients and coordinating the Pancreatic Cancer Family Registry. Ms. Patel joined the Center for Cancer Risk Assessment in 2005. She provides cancer risk assessment and genetic counseling services to patients within the diverse clinical programs at the Mass General Cancer Center. Her activities also include educating health care providers and the public in genetics, student supervision and training. Ms. Patel’s primary interests lie in patient care and education outreach programs that facilitate the integration of genetics into medical care. In addition to the Breast/Ovarian and GI Cancer Genetics clinics, Ms. Patel has a special interest in hereditary diffuse gastric cancer syndrome and serves on the scientific advisory council of No Stomach for Cancer patient support group.
