Overview
The Center for Sarcoma and Connective Tissue Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors, both malignant and benign. The team represents one of the largest sarcoma treatment groups in the country.
We offer comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with:
Specialized Programs
Our patients also have access to The Harris Center for Chordoma Care, a specialized program at the Cancer Center dedicated to chordoma research and care.
Mass General Cancer Center's Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program provides specialized resources and support for our AYA patients. Patients can access supportive care resources including social work, psychology, psychiatry, sexual health and fertility, lifestyle medicine, integrative therapies, and parenting guidance. Dedicated AYA clinicians and program manager are available to connect patients to these resources and answer any questions.
Multidisciplinary Patient Care
Because the treatment of these cancers is complex, highly specialized experts are needed to guarantee the best possible outcomes. Each patient in our program is cared for by a multidisciplinary team of experts who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of sarcomas and connective tissue cancers. Each patient’s medical team works together throughout care and follow-up, ensuring a seamless continuity of care.
Research
The Sarcoma/Oncology Computational Biology Laboratory conducts cancer genomic/bioinformatics studies in order to detect molecular patterns relevant to tumor outcome and response to conventional or novel treatments.
