The Lurie Center at Massachusetts General Hospital provides psychiatric evaluations and ongoing services to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related neurodevelopmental disorders.

Child and adolescent psychiatry services at the Lurie Center include initial diagnostic evaluations for autism spectrum (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders and for other psychiatric concerns that may occur with ASD, such as anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and irritability (aggression, self-injury, severe tantrums). As part of the Lurie Center integrated care model, our psychiatrists see children referred by other medical providers from within and outside the Lurie Center for medication evaluations and ongoing treatment.

For ongoing clinical interventions such as counseling, psychotherapy, Applied Behavioral Analysis and other behavioral interventions, our psychiatrists refer to other mental health providers within MassGeneral Hospital and in the larger community.

Our psychiatrists provide both direct clinical care and opportunities for participation in research.
