Learn how the Scientific Advisory Board supports and enhances research activities within Mass General for Children as well as new initiatives and directions for pediatric research at Mass General.

The Mass General for Children (MGfC) Research Council was established in July, 2008, by Dr. Ronald Kleinman, MGfC’s Physician in Chief, to support and enhance research activities within MGfC and to advise him on new initiatives and directions for pediatric research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Council members provide representation from across the divisions engaged in child health research at MGfC and within other departments at the hospital. In addition to advising the Chair, the Council’s activities include administering MGfC’s Pilot and Feasibility and Summer Program in Clinical Effectiveness Grant programs and sponsoring the annual Mass General for Children Research Day.

In 2016, the Council was reformed as the Scientific Advisory Board for the MGfC Child Health Research Institute, under the leadership of Dr. Alessio Fasano, Associate Chief for Research, Department of Pediatrics, Massachusetts General Hospital.

MGfC Research Day

MGfC’s annual Research Day takes place each year in March, highlighting recent accomplishments and advances from Mass General researchers, as well as from the broader pediatric research community.
