About Sylvia R. Chiang, MPH

Sylvia R. Chiang is Director of Community Health Impact, overseeing the Community Health Impact Funds (CHIF). The CHIF is a historical community investment derived from the Massachusetts General Hospital 2022 Determination of Need process (DoN). Following guidelines established by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, she is leading a community- driven process to distribute the funds in an equitable way.

Previously, Sylvia was the Director of the Revere CARES Coalition which she led for seven years, and, prior to that, she managed Revere on the Move, the Coalition’s healthy eating/active living initiative. Sylvia is experienced in developing and implementing strategies aimed at permanent policy, systems, and environmental changes to promote healthy living and prevent illness.  Sylvia holds a Medical Doctor degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras and a Master in Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. A native of Honduras, she has a special interest in health equity and is passionate about social justice.
