About Hanna Gaggin, MD, MPH

Dr. Gaggin is a cardiologist, clinical investigator and educator at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. 

Dr. Gaggin provides wide-ranging, general cardiac care as well as heart failure- and amyloidosis-focused care. She established the multi-disciplinary Amyloidosis Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital and serves as a member of the Cardiovascular Medicine Section Leadership Council in the Cardiology Division. 

She leads and participates in single and multi-center clinical trials on heart failure with a focus on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and cardiac amyloidosis. She utilizes both traditional and novel research methods including machine learning and biomarkers. 

Her educational efforts have focused on peer and trainee education. She is the Subspecialty Core Educator for the Internal Medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and the co-editor of the 1st and 2nd edition of the MGH Cardiology Board Review book. In 2022, Dr. Gaggin was selected for the American College of Cardiology’s Emerging Faculty Leadership Academy. 

Dr. Gaggin graduated from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2003, followed by Internal Medicine residency at the University of Virginia Health System, MPH at Harvard School of Public Health with a concentration in Quantitative Methods in 2007, clinical cardiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and clinical research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. She joined the faculty at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in 2012. In 2022, Dr. Gaggin was selected as one of the HeartShare inaugural fellows to focus on data sciences.
