About Erica Frank, MD, MPH

Dr. Frank brings a long-tenured career in Primary Care, serving for five years as an attending physician at Atrius Health, and another 12 years at Lahey Clinic/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She has a particular clinical interest in obesity medicine and served for three years as the medical director of Lahey Clinic?s Weight Center. Dr. Frank graduated cum laude from Union College, received a master?s degree in public health from Boston University?s School of Public Health, and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Lahey Clinic Medical Center, and began her career there as a full-time clinician, in addition to precepting residents and teaching medical students. Prior to deciding to pursue a career in medicine, Dr. Frank began her career as a newspaper reporter, winning various awards for her reporting from the New England Press Association. She then decided to return to school to complete a post-baccalaureate pre-medical education program at Wellesley College and followed with her medical training. As a clinical instructor for Harvard Medical School since 2009, Dr. Frank has received multiple teaching awards and has served on Admissions and Graduate Medical Education Committees; teaching medical students continues to be among her professional passions. She has also been active in the Domestic Violence Initiative, Ethics Committee, and Obesity Society. Dr. Frank enjoys spending time with her family, adores dogs (particularly golden retrievers) and is an avid baker.
