About Aneesh Bapat, MD

Dr. Bapat was raised in New Jersey, but completed his undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He then returned closer to home to attend medical school at New York University. After graduating medical school, he moved to Baltimore to complete his internship and medical residency as an Osler Medical Resident at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then moved to Boston, where he completed his general cardiovascular fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, followed by fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. 

After completing clinical training, Dr. Bapat stayed on at MGH as a member of the Demoulas Cardiac Arrhythmia service. His clinical interests include catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, as well as device therapy. He also is a member of the Cardiovascular Research Center, where his research interests include the genetic and molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias.
