What to Expect at Your Visit

During your clinic visit, our team will review your symptoms and perform a neurologic examination. We will review your medications, allergies, and personal and family medical histories.  We will ask detailed questions about your history of myasthenia gravis including your diagnosis (antibody status, prior EMG studies) and whether you have had a thymectomy or thymoma. We will also ask details about what medications you have taken for MG. Through discussion and your completion of myasthenia-specific scales, we will explore the impact of your MG symptoms on your daily activities and quality of life. Finally, we will talk to you about ongoing research studies and new developments in the field.

Research and Clinical Trials

The Mass General MG clinic is at the forefront of research in MG. We provide access to industry- and NIH-supported clinical trials. Our central goal is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of myasthenia gravis. We are currently a site in the NIH funded Rare Disease Registry, MGNET.  Dr. Amanda Guidon’s research in MG has been funded by the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America and MGNET.
