About Nicolas Bravo-Vasquez, DVM PhD

Dr. Nicolas A. Bravo Vasquez is a DVM and Ph.D. research scientist in the laboratory of Cristopher Bragg at the Department of Neurology, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on the use of 2D and 3D-cell culture models derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and other cell types, to study the underlying mechanisms behind XDP and other dystonia. Dr. Bravo Vasquez obtained his Doctor in Veterinary Medicine,  Master’s in Animal Sciences, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chile (Santiago, Chile). Later on, Dr. Bravo Vasquez completed his first postdoctoral training at the Department of Infectious Diseases, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (Memphis, TN), followed by a second postdoctoral training at the Mitchell Center for Research in Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Brain Disorders, Department of Neurology of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (Houston, TX), studying Alzheimer's and HIV-Associated Neurodegenerative Disorder in iPSC derived-cerebral organoids.
