This week we recognized those essential hospital employees who help to keep Massachusetts General Hospital running day in and day out: Operations Support Staff.
In recognition of Operations Support Staff Day, June 16, Mass General hosted a virtual celebration to recognize the countless individuals who support the hospital’s clinical operations, maintain the campus grounds, provide food and beverage to staff, clean, stock and so much more.
Two exceptional employees were honored with this year’s Ricardo Diaz Memorial Award during the celebration, recognizing the hard work, selflessness and compassion reflective of Diaz’s. This year’s awardees were Tricia McQuade, of Mass General Police, Security and Outside Services, and Maria Bonasera, unit service associate on Blake 7.
“The hard work and commitment you show to our patients, their families and the entire Mass General community is such a key part of the work we do for them each day,” said Sally Mason Boemer, executive vice president of Administration and Finance, who introduced the awardees during the celebration.
Staff can continue to share their thanks on the Operations Support Staff 2021 Apollo page. The virtual celebration was recorded and can be viewed on YouTube or below. A video highlighting the many ways Operations Support Staff contribute to the Mass General community was also created and can be viewed on YouTube or below.
