Within the framework of our mission statement, the goals of the MFM Fellowship at Mass General are:
The MFM Fellowship provides a broad education in all aspects of maternal-fetal medicine. We expect our graduates to become busy and valued clinicians who will be leaders in our field. Training includes:
The basic science and physiology of pregnancy
Ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis

All aspects of labor, delivery and postpartum care
In addition, fellows will learn research design and statistical methods and complete a scholarly thesis. In addition to the faculty of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Program within the Obstetrics Program, fellows receive education from specialists in maternal medical complications, obstetrical anesthesia, neonatology, critical care and pathology.
