The Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine team provided free pre-season physicals earlier this month at Madison Park Technical High School in Roxbury. Getting the required physical examination is often a major hurdle for under-served communities, where access to primary care physicians can be an issue. Over 70 student-athletes from all fall sports, including soccer, football and cross country, took advantage of the opportunity.

Through Mass General Brigham’s partnership with the New England Revolution, former Revs superstar Taylor Twellman also stopped by to talk to the athletes, sign autographs and provide 50 free tickets for a future Revs game.

"It’s exciting for us as the official sports medicine provider of the New England Revolution to bring team legend Taylor Twellman here today to meet the kids and give out some free tickets. It’s all about making these connections with great partners like the Revs and providing an important service to our community," said R. Scott Gassett, vice president of Sports Medicine, Mass General Brigham.

Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine works with more than 2,000 student-athletes at Boston Public Schools across all sports seasons. This event marked the third time Mass General Brigham Sports Medicine clinicians have offered free pre-season physicals for BPS student-athletes.
