Orhun Muratoglu, PhD, Director of the Harris Orthopaedics Laboratory, was inducted as a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) class of 2022. NAI Fellows are academic inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society.

Dr. Muratoglu is the twelfth NAI fellow chosen from the Massachusetts General Hospital community. As part of his work within the Harris Lab, Dr. Muratoglu regularly invents new orthopedic techniques and technology designed to improve clinical efficiency and efficacy towards better patient outcomes. According to the NAI, election to Fellow status is "the highest professional distinction accorded solely to academic inventors." Dr. Muratoglu’s research is regularly summarized on Advances in Motion.
