Information on residency, fellowship and continuing medical education opportunities available through the Department of Urology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Sub-internship

The Mass General Department of Urology invites visiting students for a sub-internship in urology. This month-long rotation in urology gives fourth-year medical students exposure to various subspecialties within the department.

Students will be welcomed to our department by our faculty, residents and fellows for a four-week rotation. During your time with us you will assist in surgeries and participate in weekly conferences and ongoing research projects with our trainees. Based on your interest, you will be assigned a mentor.

How to Apply

Medical students interested in a rotation in Urology at Mass General should:
  1. Contact Kim Williams at kwilliams40@partners.org or 617-726-8078
  2. After you have contacted Kim Williams, fill out a Harvard Medical School (HMS) Clerkship Application. On your application, please be sure to specify that Mass General is your first priority rotation choice

Please note that the course for students interested in a sub-internship with the Harvard Program in Urology at Mass General is: Clinical Urology (SU518M.3).

Please note: Your final enrollment in the elective is dependent on successful completion and acceptance of the HMS application by the registrar. Final formal approval from HMS often comes through only a few weeks before the rotation start date. So, once you have at least started the HMS application, immediately let us know your month preference and we will check our availability and reserve your spot. That way, you do not have to worry about availability while you are waiting for HMS to approve your application.
