Numbness, tingling or burning sensations are often related to peripheral nerve problems. Your provider will perform a comprehensive history and physical examination to determine the nature of your symptoms, which will help to differentiate this from central nervous system or systemic causes. If related to peripheral nerve compression or irritation, surgical decompression may be indicated to improve the symptoms.
