A primary care physician at Mass General since 1996, Tim leads the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization and is a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. His clinical interests include caring for medically complex patients and home visits to the elderly. His research and management interests include design and implementation of care delivery system improvements for vulnerable populations at Mass General and across Mass General Brigham.
His work has led to roles at the national and international level, including chairing the steering committee of the National Quality Forum, multiple committees at the National Academy of Medicine, membership on the Secretary of Health and Human Services independent advisory council on physician payment policy, and a non-executive director on the board of England’s National Health Service (NHS Improvement).
He attended Harvard Medical School and the Harvard School of Public Health and completed his residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at Mass General.
