About Janet Lo, MD

Dr. Janet Lo is an endocrinologist and Clinical Director of the Lipid and Metabolism Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is also a clinical investigator in the MGH Metabolism Unit and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  

She received her BA in Molecular Cell Biology and English Literature from University of California at Berkeley. She received her M.D. from Columbia University and received her M.MSc. in Clinical Investigation from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lo completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. She completed her Endocrine Clinical and Research Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Lo's clinical focus is on lipid disorders and endocrinology. Her research work focuses on lipid metabolism, metabolic disease, atherosclerosis and inflammation. Awards in recognition of her work include the MGH Division of Endocrinology Gilbert Daniels Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award, MGH Claflin Distinguished Scholar Award in Research and NIH Career Development Awards. She is the Principal Investigator of NIH-funded Research Project R01 grants and a NIH K24 Mid-Career Award in Mentoring and Research.
