About Suzanne Coopey, MD

Suzanne B. Coopey, MD is an Assistant in Surgery in the Division of Surgical Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She specializes in breast surgery. She also serves as an Instructor in Surgery for Harvard Medical School. Dr. Coopey received her undergraduate training at the Pennsylvania State University and her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She did her general surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic and received her fellowship training in breast oncology at the combined Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham & Women's Hospital program.

Dr. Coopey's research activities are focused on innovations in lumpectomy techniques to optimize re-excision rates and cosmetic outcomes, clarifying the risk of breast cancer in women with atypical breast lesions, and evaluating nipple-sparing mastectomy techniques and outcomes.
