About Magdalena Krzystolik, MD
Dr. Magdalena G. Krzystolik is Site Director at Mass. Eye and Ear, Providence and Mass. Eye and Ear, Plainville (MA) where she specializes in the treatment and surgery of retinal diseases with clinical focus on diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusions, age-related macular degeneration, and retinal detachments. Dr. Krzystolik's academic interests include anti-angiogenic treatments of retinal diseases, prevention of sport-related ocular trauma in children, and integrating retinal surgery into the ophthalmic graduate medical education curriculum.
Dr. Krzystolik received her MD from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School (HMS). Following graduation, she served as Chief Resident at Mass. Eye and Ear before completing a vitreoretinal fellowship there in 2000 as a Heed Fellow.
Dr. Krzystolik is a Member of the Faculty at Harvard Medical School, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where she lectures, supervises and mentors trainees, and conducts clinical research. She is a member of several professional societies including the New England Ophthalmological Society, Massachusetts Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, the Rhode Island Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
