About Allison Soneru, MD

Allison Soneru, MD, is a member of the Glaucoma Service. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma, glaucoma surgery (including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery/MIGS), and cataract surgery.

Dr. Soneru earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and subsequently graduated from the Columbia University’s Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program before earning her Medical Degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. During medical school she volunteered with Unite for Sight in Accra, Ghana, which solidified her decision to pursue ophthalmology. She went on to complete an ophthalmology residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where she had the opportunity to work in Chandigarh, India serving an underserved population, and to volunteer at Chicago’s Community Health Clinic. She subsequently completed her glaucoma fellowship at New England Eye Center and Tufts University in Boston.
