About James Hillis, MD, MBBS, DPhil
Dr. James Hillis specializes in complex diseases of the neurologic system. These conditions include the neurologic manifestations of systemic conditions such as sarcoidosis and vasculitis. He also treats the neurologic involvement of systemic cancer including paraneoplastic and treatment (chemotherapy, immunotherapy) side effects. He completed medical school at the University of Melbourne in Australia and a doctorate at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. He later completed neurology residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in Advanced General and Autoimmune Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He works closely with members of other specialties including rheumatology, infectious disease and oncology.
