About Aileen O'Shea, MD
Dr. O’Shea is a dual board-certified Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine physician with additional subspecialty training in Abdominal Imaging.
She specializes in the use of advanced cross-sectional imaging techniques (CT, MR, PET/CT, PET/MR, SPECT) to non-invasively diagnose cancer and other diseases.
Dr. O’Shea is the director of the Theranostics team at MGH, offering Radium223 (Xofigo), Lutetium Dotatate (Lutathera), and Lutetium PSMA (Pluvicto) therapies for patients in New England.
Her training includes a diagnostic radiology residency at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland and a three-year scholarship-fellowship with the Division of Abdominal Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in Nuclear Radiology, also at Massachusetts General Hospital. She is board certified by the Faculty of Radiology in Ireland, American Board of Radiology and American Board of Nuclear Medicine.
Her research interests include novel imaging methods for imaging the tumor microenvironment using both MRI and PET/MRI. She is a current member of the Radiation Safety Committee at Massachusetts General Hospital.
