About Anna Garza-Mayers, MD, PhD

Anna Cristina Garza-Mayers, MD, PhD is a board-certified Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Pediatric Dermatologist, and Instructor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School.  After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Biology, she completed her medical degree (MD) and PhD (Microbiology and Immunobiology) at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Garza-Mayers completed her internship in pediatrics at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, followed by dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School.  Subsequently, she undertook advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Dermatology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. Dr. Garza-Mayers has clinical interests in vitiligo, skin pigmentation, vascular birthmarks, acne, and the full spectrum of pediatric dermatology. She is an active member of the Society of Pediatric Dermatology, Pediatric Dermatology Research Alliance, and the American Academy of Dermatology. She has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles in Pediatric Dermatology and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
