About Ming-Hui Fan, MD

Ming-Hui Fan obtained her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, then completed internal medicine internship and residency at Yale New Haven Hospital.

She went on to complete pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at University of Pennsylvania, where she engaged in research in interstitial lung disease with a focus on extracellular matrix and fibroblast biology and the role of proteases such as fibroblast activation protein in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis.  She served on the faculty at University of Pennsylvania and later University of Pittsburgh where she was a member of the Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease and maintained a laboratory for some years supported by K and ALA funding investigating pulmonary fibrosis while attending in the Medical ICU and Advanced Lung Disease services.  Dr. Fan subsequently went into private practice, working first in the Pittsburgh area and later in southern Maine, but has decided to return to academic medicine, joining the MGB Pulmonary and Critical Care Division and Interstitial Lung Disease Program in the fall of 2022 where she will attend on the inpatient services as well as in the outpatient pulmonary clinics.
