About Lori Jones, MD
Lori E. Jones, MD, is a urologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, providing care to both male and female patients. Her areas of clinical expertise include voiding dysfunction, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and female urethral disease. Dr. Jones is an expert in minimally invasive and vaginal surgery.
Dr. Jones grew up South Carolina and earned her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at Furman University. After graduating from medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Jones completed her internship and residency in urology at Rutgers University, where she served as chief resident. As a general urologist in private practice in Somerville, New Jersey she encountered many patients requiring complex pelvic floor surgical care. This prompted her to further her surgical training by completing a fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at New York University before moving to Boston to be closer to family.
Dr. Jones is currently an active member of the Society of Urodynamics Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU) and the American Urologic Association (AUA). She has authored professional publications and scientific book chapters on female urology, voiding dysfunction, neurourology, and mesh complications.
Dr. Jones is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life through treatment of common urinary complaints that can be embarrassing and debilitating. She coordinates care with other healthcare providers including physical therapists, gynecologists, and colorectal specialists to create the best approach to managing pelvic and urologic disorders.
In her spare time, Dr. Jones enjoys skiing, hiking and time at the beach with her husband and two children, and over-the-top cake decorating.
