About Nikhil Panda, MD

Dr. Panda is a thoracic surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts General Hospital General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery training programs. Dr. Panda practices in all areas of thoracic surgery with clinical interests in thoracic oncology, diseases of the trachea and airways, and thoracic outlet syndrome. He performs minimally-invasive and robotic-assisted general and thoracic operations, including navigational bronchoscopy. 

Dr. Panda emphasizes delivering patient-centered care, focusing on the needs of his patients and their loved ones during and around the time of surgery. His research concentrates on improving the measurement of patient health-related quality of life during treatment of thoracic surgical conditions. He obtained his Masters of Public Health from Harvard University and conducts observational and patient-facing research.
