About Josh Ziperstein, MD

Josh Ziperstein, MD, is the Associate Program Director for Inpatient Medicine and a member of the Core Educator Faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at MGH.

He received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Brown University and subsequently worked in the Mass General Brigham AIDS Research Center developing rapid HIV diagnostics for point-of-care use. After deciding that clinical medicine was more his speed, he attended Emory University School of Medicine and subsequently completed internal medicine residency training at MGH. Following residency, he started work as a full-time Hospitalist within MGH's Hospital Medicine Unit, before joining the Core Educator Faculty in 2016.

Dr. Ziperstein teaches on the inpatient medical and consultative services, along with providing direct care for patients on the Hospitalist service. He has previously served as the “Lead for Education” within MGH's Hospital Medicine Unit, overseeing the unit's medical education career track, along with previous faculty advisory roles in the “Residents Interested in Medical Education” (RIME) group and a 2week resident-as-teacher (RAT) elective within the residency program. He is a graduate of the Harvard Macy Institute’s “Program for Educators in the Health Professions” and SHM's “Academic Hospitalist Academy”. His clinical and research interests include medical education, technology in education, inpatient rotation design, clinical hemodynamics, and inpatient management of end stage liver disease.
