About Andrea Thurler, DNP, FNP-BC

Andrea Thurler is a family nurse practitioner at MGH and assistant professor of nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She earned her bachelors degree in Health Science from Boston University and earned her Masters and Doctoral degrees from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. She serves as the Director of Ambulatory Nursing and Advanced Practice Providers (APP) at Massachusetts General Hospital GI Associates. She also serves in a clinical and research role in the Center for Neurointestinal Health within the unit. She is a co-director and faculty member of the annual Harvard motility course, which embodies a collaborative approach among nursing, APPs and medicine in taking care of patients with motility and neurointestinal health issues.

She is very active in and passionate about legislative efforts allowing APPs and RNs to practice to the full extent of their license and training. This has been reflected in her work with the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and the American Nurses Association.

When not working in GI, Andrea enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with family and friends.
