About Christopher Stapleton, MD

Dr. Christopher Stapleton is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital. A graduate of the Harvard Medical School, he completed his neurosurgery residency and endovascular neurosurgery fellowship at Mass General. He also completed an advanced cerebrovascular surgery fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His clinical specialization encompasses the evaluation and surgical and endovascular management of cerebral and spinal vascular pathologies, including arteriovenous malformations, brain aneurysms, carotid artery disease, cavernous malformations, cerebral hemorrhage, dural arteriovenous fistulae, and ischemic stroke.

Dr. Stapleton's research interests include the genomic and molecular characterization of arteriovenous malformations; the development of predictive models of brain aneurysm growth and rupture using computational fluid dynamics; and the design and development of novel endovascular devices for brain aneurysm treatment.
