“Today marks the opportunity to say thank you for all our patients, family members and each other. We care for the sickest of the sick, yet we come to work every day to care for our patients and our organization,” said Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, DNP, senior vice president for Patient Care and chief nurse, during her remarks at the fourth annual MGH Service Excellence Awards.

More than 250 people attended the July 20 event at the Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill Hotel where outpatient practices, inpatient units, individuals, leaders and teams were celebrated for their extraordinary achievements in improving the patient experience at the MGH.

Recipients were recognized in two award categories including nomination-based awards –
for individuals, leaders, and for departments/programs/teams – and “score-based” awards for achievement in service excellence metrics across the continuum.

“Reading all the nominations showed the amazing work across the practice,” said Inga Lennes, MD, senior vice president for Service Excellence.  “We are so thrilled to once again honor these dedicated staff members.”

This year, 150 nominations were submitted and a total of 10 departments/programs/teams, eight individual and seven leadership recipients were honored. In addition, 54 practices and units were recognized for contributions in the score-based category.
