Art of Talking Science Competition: Rise of the Machines

Are you a researcher looking to boost your communication skills? Submit a short first-person video and complete our online application form (below) for a chance to present your science to a live audience and panel of celebrity judges during HUBweek on Wednesday, Oct. 11.

One of the biggest challenges that scientists face is communicating effectively to lay audiences such as donors, investors, the media and the public.

Join us for a lively, fast paced communicating science competition that will give researchers a chance to present their work—in four minutes—to a live audience and receive feedback from a panel of expert science communicators: Carey Goldberg, WBUR; Rich Hayes, Deputy Communications Director Union of Concerned Scientists; Christine Reich, PhD, VP Exhibit Development and Conservation Museum of Science; and Ike Swetlitz, STAT reporter.

To Participate:

Interested participants should fill out our application form below and MUST include a link to a one-minute, first-person video introducing themselves and their science.

This video can be shot on your phone and then uploaded to YouTube. It doesn't have to be fancy or polished, we just want to get to know you. See the video below for more details.
